Who we are

Good Gig Company (“we”, “us”) books live musicians for venues and events and runs open mic nights in London. We are responsible for the personal information collected through goodgigcompany.co.uk. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at goodgigcompany@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Open mic sign-ups: your name, email address, which night you want to play, your act name or Instagram handle, and what you'll be performing.

  • Enquiries: your name, email address and the details you give us about your venue or event.

  • News and updates: your email address, if you tick the box to sign up.

  • Website use: information collected by cookies and similar technologies, such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. See “Cookies” below.

How we use it, and our legal basis

  • To arrange your open mic slot or respond to your enquiry: our legitimate interests in running our events and business, or to take steps you've asked for before entering into a contract with us.

  • To send you news and updates: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing us.

  • To keep the website secure and working: our legitimate interests (essential cookies).

  • To understand how the website is used: your consent (analytics cookies).

  • To meet our legal obligations, for example keeping business records.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We only share it with:

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes form submissions on our behalf.

  • Google, which provides the email service we use to receive and reply to messages.

  • The venue hosting your open mic night, where needed to run the event (for example, the running order).

  • Professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

  • Open mic sign-ups and enquiries: up to 2 years after we were last in touch.

  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

  • Business and financial records: for as long as the law requires (usually 6 years).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask us to transfer it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, email goodgigcompany@gmail.com. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use:

  • Essential cookies: needed for the site to work, for example to keep it secure, process forms and remember your cookie choices. These are always on.

  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We only use these if you select “Accept all” or turn them on in “Manage cookies”.

When you first visit the site, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings. Squarespace publishes a full list of the cookies its websites may use on its own website.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
